- I’m going away Friday morning, will be gone ’til Sunday morning
- Just me and my dh

- Well, technically, there are about 80 of us going, so it’s not just us
- But, I really only know about 20 or so of those going
- It was supposed to be six to eight couples… it grew (you know the whole, you tell two people, and he’ll tell two people, and so on…

- We’re taking a charter bus to Seattle
- Stopping at the outlet for a couple of hours
- Going to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner (I’ve never been but have heard it’s great)
- Spending night one, just me and my dh (first time in about 7 or so years)
- Saturday we’re getting one a one night cruise
- Cruisin’
(I don’t have a ship emoticon, just pretend)
- Spending night two, just me and my dh

- Did I mention we weren’t taking the kids?
(yes, I’ll probably miss them like crazy and I’m a bit nervous about it, but still I’m so excited to be doing adult stuff with other adults for two whole days and a bit)

Back from my vacation where I mostly cooked BUT, we had the most wonderful lunch at a new to us restaurant yesterday. It was an Italian place but great for the whole family. Good food, great portion sizes, fantastic service and kids menus. The name was Johnny Carino’s in Burlington, WA – will have to find the receipt. Anyway, so I thought I would do a TT on the things I have eaten, mostly weird, some not so weird.
- Witchety Grub – look it up. Someone elses TT (last week I think – was it you Elle or ??) talked about grubs. Yeah. I had this baked in the dirt at a Corroborree (sp?) I attended in the Northern Territory, Australia. Had I known what it was at the time I would never eaten it. As it was it just tasted a bit like peanut butter, just more pasty, less sticky.
- Lizard – same event as the witchety grub, baked in the dirt. Tasted like chicken.

- Crocodile – also in Australia, although in a restaurant. Also, tasted like chicken, although fatty chicken. Really fatty *shudders*
- Kangaroo – guess where? OK, yes, I likely ate all my weird stuff in Australia. This one may be weird but it was unbelievably good. And it cut like butta. And, funny enough… it had witchety grub sauce on the side.

- Caribou – no, not in Australia, but again oh so good. I do like game meat apparently.
- Buffalo – can’t remember where, just remember I didn’t like it. It was super dry. Blech.
- Deer – my ex-boyfriend’s family used to hunt. They owned a Greek restaurant and would shut it down and cook deer for all of us. It was yummy.
Too bad he was a jerk.
- Feta rolled into and baked in fresh bread, like a cinnamon roll, except with feta. Same Greek party with the deer. Again, yummy.
- Salmon – I love salmon.
Truly it is my perfect food and, really, so versatile. Mmmmm.
- Cannoli – had my first one yesterday. Loved it.
Ooey gooey cupcakes – I swear to you these are the best cupcakes on earth. Google them. I think the recipe originated with Emeril Lagasse. Definitely NOT low fat.
-
Calamari – deep fried with tons of tsatziki. So good.
-
Poutine – do you know what it is? LOL

Four things I want to do.
- 1. Get my tooth extracted.

- 2. Clean my entire office since my baby pulled everything off the desk and shelves and I just jammed them back where I could. Not a good look.
- 3. Move a muscle – it’s hot here. Very hot. I like hot. I don’t like moving around in hot.
- Finish my dh’s taxes. He’s self-employed and we were supposed to file June 15th but this year we have an additional thing to do, and it’s confusing so,
um, haven’t finished it yet.
- 4. Go to the post office. Yes, I promised someone I was sending them something last week, then two days ago and here we are at today.
In my defense there’s been some stuff going on here and I just haven’t had a chance to drag all my children (and frankly I’d rather not so I’ve been waiting for dh to get home, and then they’re closed, blah, blah, blah). Sufficed to say I’m doing it today. Really.
- 5. Pick up my oldest from school. I mean, I want my son, but I don’t want to have to go to the school to get him. There is new construction around the school and parking is a nightmare, so you have to get there early. I waste 40 minutes hanging out there, chasing my baby around and trying to make sure he doesn’t pick-up, touch and/or eat the disgusting things he finds on the ground. On the other hand, my daughter (middle-child) gets to play on the playground and she likes that.
- 6. Laundry – did I mention it was really hot out?
- 7. Go to the bank. Actually inside the bank. I like to do things online or through the ATM. But this is for my daughter’s account and they don’t have atm cards as yet (she’s 5) so I have to go inside and stand inline with my 5 year old and 1 year old. Fun. BUT, the plus side is… they have airconditioning.

- 8. TT – see, I wasn’t going to do it. I was going to post this great review I got for Inheritance (in the Hint of Summer duet), but I thought I might actually have thirteen things.
Apparently, I was wrong.
- 9.Did I mention the dentist? Yeah, ok I said tooth pulled BUT, that involves having to go do the dentist. Don’t want to. Kinda scared.

- 10. I want to go sit in our pool. It’s only one of those 12 x 4 ones but it’s good enough for me. I can sit in it, put my arms over the side and relax. Well, when I’m not being splashed by my children.
- 11. BBQ something. I’m not sure what but that’s what we’re doing for dinner. Not sure I’ll be able to eat. Hmm, never thought about that.
- 12.
I really need to write and catch up on my words for Sven. I’m trying Sven, I’m trying!
- 13. I’d like to open my email and see the (good) news I’ve been waiting a week for – and no, it’s not about a book. But it would really make me happy if it works out. If it does I’ll let you know.

- Cause every week I struggle for something interesting to say.
- Thirteen doesn’t seem like a lot but it really is.
- At about 9 I seem to run out of stuff, even when I have a really good idea.
- I should be writing.
- I should be editing.
- I could be reading, but don’t really have time for that any more either.
- It’s ten minutes (or thirty) I’ll never get back.
- I could be sleeping.
- See I’m at 9, you can already see how lame this is getting

- It’s really not as easy as it looks
- I always post and forget to add Mr. Linky so I need to repost
- It has become a chore and a duty, what happened to the fun?
- Did I mention thirteen is a lot of stuff? I did? Well how about a Thursday Three? I could do that no problem.
