New Reviews for Inheritance from A Hint of Summer Beach Duet

Our first review was received the other day from Linda at Romance At Heart Magazine…here is a small snippet from the review of my story:

Inheritance is a lovely romantic tale of two likeable people who match up so evenly. It is almost like Grandma Nancy knew the future, especially when it came to her other family members. The reader gets an intense feel for Chase and Reece, not to mention the family members, who are as greedy as they come. Ms. Braden spins a delightful read that flows consistently and touches on family, love and the joy of having it all without having to depend on material assets. This is one story that really captivates.

Our second review was received today from Coffee Time Romance Coffee Time

4 Cups from Liadan at Coffee Time Romance!

For Inheritance by MG Braden:

A beautiful story of two people thrown together quite by chance. I loved the way the characters seem to be on the same page, yet not quite. There is a distance between them and though they face several trials together, love wins out. MG Braden has written an outstanding love story.

For the entire book Liadan said:

These two stories make the reader long for a summer romance that ends happily… This is one book that you should not pass by, but read and savor each word.

Thank you to both Romance at Heart Magazine and Coffee Time Romance for reviewing the book.

Thursday Thirteen – 9 Things I don’t Want to do Today (But Have to Anyway) and…

    t13-todo-banner.gif

Four things I want to do.

    • 1. Get my tooth extracted.
    • 2. Clean my entire office since my baby pulled everything off the desk and shelves and I just jammed them back where I could. Not a good look.
    • 3. Move a muscle – it’s hot here. Very hot. I like hot. I don’t like moving around in hot.
    • Finish my dh’s taxes. He’s self-employed and we were supposed to file June 15th but this year we have an additional thing to do, and it’s confusing so, um, haven’t finished it yet.
    • 4. Go to the post office. Yes, I promised someone I was sending them something last week, then two days ago and here we are at today. In my defense there’s been some stuff going on here and I just haven’t had a chance to drag all my children (and frankly I’d rather not so I’ve been waiting for dh to get home, and then they’re closed, blah, blah, blah). Sufficed to say I’m doing it today. Really.
    • 5. Pick up my oldest from school. I mean, I want my son, but I don’t want to have to go to the school to get him. There is new construction around the school and parking is a nightmare, so you have to get there early. I waste 40 minutes hanging out there, chasing my baby around and trying to make sure he doesn’t pick-up, touch and/or eat the disgusting things he finds on the ground. On the other hand, my daughter (middle-child) gets to play on the playground and she likes that.
    • 6. Laundry – did I mention it was really hot out?
    • 7. Go to the bank. Actually inside the bank. I like to do things online or through the ATM. But this is for my daughter’s account and they don’t have atm cards as yet (she’s 5) so I have to go inside and stand inline with my 5 year old and 1 year old. Fun. BUT, the plus side is… they have airconditioning.
    • 8. TT – see, I wasn’t going to do it. I was going to post this great review I got for Inheritance (in the Hint of Summer duet), but I thought I might actually have thirteen things. Apparently, I was wrong.
    • 9.Did I mention the dentist? Yeah, ok I said tooth pulled BUT, that involves having to go do the dentist. Don’t want to. Kinda scared.
    • 10. I want to go sit in our pool. It’s only one of those 12 x 4 ones but it’s good enough for me. I can sit in it, put my arms over the side and relax. Well, when I’m not being splashed by my children.
    • 11. BBQ something. I’m not sure what but that’s what we’re doing for dinner. Not sure I’ll be able to eat. Hmm, never thought about that.
    • 12. I really need to write and catch up on my words for Sven. I’m trying Sven, I’m trying!
    • 13. I’d like to open my email and see the (good) news I’ve been waiting a week for – and no, it’s not about a book. But it would really make me happy if it works out. If it does I’ll let you know.

    70 Day Check-in #1

Have you checked in yet? If not go to Alison’s post here or click on Sven to take you there…
    Sven

As for me I did nothing on Monday. I knew I probably wouldn’t. It was a long day and a late night and my choice was write or sleep a little before the baby woke up. Yeah…

Yesterday I wrote 952 words and I’m happy with that. My personal goal was to do at least 1000 words per day but average it over the week, if that makes sense. If I don’t do it one day then I need to make it up on another. The weekends are the times when I can do that since my husband is around, and I can actually (most of the time) focus on a bit more connected time to write. Instead of grabbing a few minutes here and there or starting at 10pm when I’m exhausted. Still each of those 900+ typed was done in an about an hour, give or take. Imagine what I could do with a couple or a few hours at a time. Wow!

So after three days (today is day 4 but I won’t get to write until tonight) my total is 1860 – not great but better than a kick in the pants.

    How are you doing?

    I’m getting a little sweaty

    Sven

It’s 8:19am and it’s already hot here. And that has nothing to do with the weather, although that’s gonna be a scorcher too.

I only got 608 words done yesterday. I had all good intentions but somehow a lot of our day was eaten away. Of course, it didn’t help that I decided to revamp my blog to make it easier on the eyes. I found it hard to read the writing on the purple background. So I needed to find a three-column theme that I could bend and twist to my needs and have the writing on white in the posts. Then revamping it took, uh , slightly longer than I expected. Every time I had one thing finished, I found another that needed fixing.

In personal areas of my life I’m very stressed out because of things going on. HOWEVER, I am going to do this challenge. I am going to get my novella done and then hopefully finish another on. I know I am accountable to the few people that read my blog, and LOL to those I goaded into doing this. So, here’s to another sweaty day.
