We’ve had two more reviews flow in for this.

Small snippets of the review…
For Inheritance by MG Braden:
I enjoyed this story and thought MG Braden did another fantastic job of creating characters that were real, honest and exciting. This story will trap you within its grasp and have you laughing and loving with the characters. And, at times, reaching for something to cool down!
For Summer’s Return by Cindy K. Green:
Cindy K. Green does not disappoint! With beautiful imagery and craftsmanship, she will have you hearing the waves, seeing the sunsets and falling in love!

4 Hearts from Kara Lynn Russell at TRS (click for full review), who didn’t appear enjoy my story as much as Cindy’s BUT still was honest and fair in her review, which I appreciate so much.
For Inheritance by MG Braden:
Ms. Braden took up the challenge of having her characters meet, get to know each other and fall in love within a short story. This is a difficult task and she handles the development of the relationship well. I wish in some instances she had done more showing instead of telling. For example, the reader is told that Chase is a nice person. I’d rather see her in action and figure that out for myself. A bit more back story may have helped as well. Chase and Reece had great chemistry and Braden’s love scenes were wonderful. This is a fun summer read.
For Summer’s Return by Cindy K. Green:
The characters were wonderfully defined, the tension between them was very real. Ms. Green really made this story work in short format by trimming it to the essentials. There are no other characters aside from Parker and Arianna, giving her more time to develop their personalities. They already have a shared past, a relationship. Her writing is crisp and clean. Ms. Green makes every one of her words count and the result is a beautiful, moving story.

I do want to comment on reviewing for a moment. I do reviews myself, under another name. Reviewing is hard work because it is so subjective. The reading itself is not necessarily hard, although it can be, but writing the review, especially if you didn’t like the book is hard. It’s worse if you “know” the author from an online group or through blog travels. When I review I try to be fair, and I always try to find at least one thing I liked about the book. This was someone’s baby. Someone worked hard on it and again, it’s all subjective. There’s only ever been one review that I declined to post, but the book was truly a nightmare and needed editing in the worst way. It’s very easy to write the review when you love the book. A little harder when you just liked it, and truly brutal if you really didn’t like it. While I know there are snarky reviewers out there, and for entertainment value they can be amusing, I think most places try to be fair and I appreciate that very much. I’m not talking about the places that seem to give certain authors or maybe everyone, the same glowing reviews. I don’t want glowing if that’s not how you felt. I’m just saying fair.
So, that verbal spew was a long way of me saying THANK YOU to all the reviewers that have read my books and posted their reviews in a fair and equitable manner. Who have pointed out, what they felt were, weaknesses but in a nice way. Who also pointed out things that worked and why. Thank you – I appreciate you. I appreciate that, in the sea of books to review, you were able to find something of value in my writing. I read, and try to learn, from every review.
Now, who wants to review Love Songs?
