I’ve been Tagged – 8 Random Things

So I’ve been tagged by Jennifer Bianco for this so here you go:

  1. I read really fast (unless the book isn’t great). My dh can’t believe it.
  2. I don’t like to wear my glasses in public but have recently because I’ve been so tired.
  3. I like gadgets (well, some of you may have known that)
  4. If I could have a bath every night in a big huge bathtub filled with bubbles I would. I don’t like our bathtub here so I don’t. It’s too small and shallow. Or I’m too big. Either way it doesn’t work for me! LOL
  5. I sing to pretty much anything. I love to sing. Sing, sing a song…:music:
  6. I like red wine, and trying new wines, but I don’t know much about wine. Therefore I choose my wine by reading the back. My latest favourite was chosen because it said something about hints of mint and chocolate. (FYI – it’s Yellow Tail Shiraz Cab).
  7. I want a Hummer. I long for one. It’s my dream car. Sigh.
  8. I actually have a Mensa IQ. Scary, I know. I wonder how come I don’t use it more often ! LOL
  9. OK, so here are the rules:
    - Each player starts with 8 random facts or habits about themselves.
    - People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their 8 things with a copy of these rules.
    - At the end of your blog you need to choose 8 people to get tagged and list their names.
    - Don’t forget to leave them a note saying they’ve been tagged.

I think everyone I know has already been tagged but I’ll try: May, Joely, Jackie, RG, Cindy K. Green, Denise, Jen, Elle

And Yet Another Contest – KOM

So have you all been waiting for this?

KOM Cover

Oh, come on. You know you want this book! And I’m not going to make you work that hard for it. Maybe just a little of this…
:respect:

No, really. In order to be entered for a chance to with Lara Adrian’s Kiss of Midnight you must comment, in this post only, your best kiss story. The story needs to be fairly clean (please) since this isn’t an erotic romance blog. I’d prefer it be a real story but made up is fine too (truthfully how would I know?)

This contest will run from now until Midnight (Pacific), May 21, 2007 at which time a team of highly skilled judges will determine the winner.

More nice words, more contests

Jaci Burton said some nice things about Love’s Blessings and I truly appreciate her taking the time to read it and blog about it. Thank you, thank you.

The gist of the post…

I found the story compelling and heartful, and enjoyed it very much. The author had me riding the emotional rollercoaster through the book, but gave me a Happily Ever After in abundance (thank you! I needed that).

Now, see? Jaci blogged about it. Why don’t you? Have you read it? It’s only $1.49 and you can find it here. You could win a $10 Fictionwise gift certificate, which can actually net you quite a few ebooks from your favourite epubs. See the original contest post here for details.

Also, I’ll be running another contest starting tomorrow. Want to read Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian? I have a free copy to give away. But you’re going to have to work for it people. This book is AWESOME. You know you want it. So what are you going to have to do for it? Stay tuned to find out…tomorrow! :angelsmiley:

I’m Home and another Review

Well I’m home from the conference. I’m exhausted, I chipped off part of my tooth, my whole face hurts BUT I pitched my romantic suspense to Harlequin and she’s requested a partial. :yoyosmiley: Pitching was nerve-wracking but fast and the editor from HQ was very nice. I will do another post on the cool people I met and the things I learned.

I’ve come home to several things that need taking care of including my story, Inheritance, which needs to be finished asap for the Beach Duets anthology for Moonlit Romance.

Finally, there was a link to a review for Love’s Blessings sitting in my inbox (along with a billion other emails, some of them trying to convince me that I need “enlarging” ). Here is a small snippet of the review:

Ms. Braden crafts a heartrending story of love, devotion and the length a couple goes in a marriage that can turn amiss without enough faith, and love from God, when people fail to remember He is there for us if we only believe… Impressible characters, with great in-depth sensations that touch the heart, make this one recommended read that shouldn’t be missed. This gifted author instills how important it is to have enough faith and love to make a reality happen in one’s life…. This well-crafted story touches upon so many things and demonstrates how struggles are often hard in any loving relationship but reaping the rewards makes it all the worthwhile. For anyone wishing to feel an elation that really leaves a great feeling then why not drop on by www.bygracepublishing.com where one can find a most satisfying story in Love’s Blessings.

Sincerely good reading,

Linda (Romance at Heart Magazine)

If you’d like to read the whole review you will find it here at Romance at Heart Magazine

Write On

I’m going to my first conference this weekend. The Write On Vancouver conference. I”m very excited but, unfortunately, I am also sick. I have a horrible head and moving-in-to-the-chest cold. I wanted to look all fabulous and be confident for this and instead my nose is all red and my head aches .

Hopefully I can get it together and no one will notice. I’m going to hunt down some cold medicine and try to be all perky. I’m supposed to pitch to an editor and/or an agent. I’m not sure which one I’ll get because you had to make a first and second choice. I chose the HQ editor first. I have no idea what I’d say to an agent but if I get that then I’ll go for it. There is also a Bantam Dell editor there but I have nothing that would work for her at this time.

I’m wanting to pitch Ghost Writer to HQ for their Intrigue line (or possibly somewhere else since they keep changing their lines and confusing me! LOL). I am trying to come up with something catchy but my fog filled brain gets to “What would you do if…” and all sorts of things pop into my head, none of them work. :snooty:

OK, so I need to suck it up, get out there and do it. Yes, I do. And I will. The other fun part is I’m meeting fellow authors that are contracted with FB and WRP, among others.
