Thursday Thirteen – Things I Think About

tt4.gif
These are the things I think about, worry about or, ok, maybe even obsess about. It doesn’t mean that they are all important things, but more that I just can’t get them out of my head. Maybe I’ll put each one into a story and then the thoughts will go away… Edited to note: yes I am a bit of a control freak – just ask my dh!

  1. Something happening to one of my children – since the day that #1 was born it’s been like that. I know it’s probably the same for most mothers but I have had anxiety issues over it.
  2. Something happening to my dh – ok yes, again, probably obvious but these things really cling to me and I can picture things in my head way too clearly. :shake: Not good.
  3. Saying the wrong thing – I can go over a conversation in my head and suddenly I will think I said something stupid or wrong and the person will now, of course, hate me.
  4. A tone that someone used in conversation with me. You know, a tone, I’m sure that XYZ had a tone when she said “abc”. Then I’ll ask my dh “what do you think that means?” and of course he didn’t hear a tone and never thinks anything means anything.
  5. Spelling errors in emails or correspondence sent to people that may some day become an editor, publisher or some other important person in my writing life.
  6. Why some people comment on other people’s blogs but not mine (ha – now they’ll probably never comment! LOL But please note this is a general thing not anyone specific. Unless it’s you. Do you feel bad yet?). Did I spurn them in some way? Do they hate me?
    What did I do?
  7. I will never lose weight. Doesn’t matter that I go to bootcamp, that I’m taking the stuff I’m supposed to and that I’m trying to eat healthy. That one time I ate poutine (maybe two) has ruined it for me.
  8. That when I sing people in the congregation are cringing and wondering why the worship pastor put me up there. That he’s not telling me the truth when he says I don’t suck.:music:
  9. That I’m not a good enough mother or wife.
  10. That my writing sucks and editors will pass it around and laugh at it – and not because it is a comedy.
  11. That gas will never come down in price.
  12. That I don’t have enough ideas to keep me writing.
  13. What will I do when there is no more Harry Potter? Why won’t she write just one more? Maybe take five years off and then write him in college? C’mon…

Another LB Review

Debbie from OUAR gave Love’s Blessings a rating of 4.5 and says this:

I started this book with the intention of reading a few chapters before bed, but I was immediately taken in and ended up reading the whole story in two hours. Any book that has me weepy in the first paragraph is a keeper.

M.G.Braden tells a beautiful story about the power of love and acceptance. I enjoyed it and although there were some things that frustrated me about Janelle and Kevins treatment of eachother, I understood their reasons and sympathized with both sides.

There was one situation in the book that felt a bit unnatural to me, and I think it was because the event that caused it was glossed over without enough explanation. However, this was a minor frustration in an overall lovely and heartwarming story that I hope others will get to experience.

Another Sister of the Severed Hand (long story, really) read Love’s Blessings and you can find her post here.

Thanks so much, :grouphug:it’s nice to know that I could bring even a small amount of enjoyment to others through my words.

Happy Mother’s Day

Mothers Day

My youngest is quite sick so I will spend the day taking care of him. He’s just over a year old so if you would keep him in your thoughts and prayers I’d appreciate it. He was at the hospital last night because they were worried about hydration (nothing is staying down or in if you know what I mean).

Here are some photos of my babies (click on the thumbnails to enlarge):

2andMe This is #2 and I at her preschool Mother’s Day Tea. She has her hair in a pony tail and it makes it look like it has been cut off (she also dropped a strawberry on her dress about a minute after we go there! LOL)
1and3 This is of my oldest and youngest son. I know it’s a bit blurry but that’s the most recent photo I have. My camera seems to have died.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
