See What I Found?

So I told Jaci (who has made more sales of the Demon series – woohoo!) that I was looking for her book everywhere I went (sadly, this was mostly grocery stores where they only seemed to have the top 10 on the bestseller list). I knew I was going into one of the big book stores up here, which is Chapters/Indigo so I took my camera with me just in case.

See what I found?…DD with SDI

Not the little girl, she belongs to me – this is DD holding Surviving Demon Island. Then we grabbed them all from the two shelves, where they were split, put them all on one and turned them face out. SDI on shelf

The funniest thing was as we were doing this a woman kept looking at me so I thought maybe I was in trouble for taking photos in the store. I said that and that I was so excited because my friend (ha – now you’re in trouble Jaci!) wrote this book. She asked what it was about and, of course, I told her. She then put down the book she was going to buy and purchased SDI! How cool is that? She said it sounded awesome and way better than what she was going to read. I should have stood there all day – maybe I could have sold all the copies. LOL

In other reading news I now have my lucky little hands on this baby:

KOM

Once this goes on sale I will track it down here and take a photo of dd (she’s way cuter than I am) with it. In the meantime it is mine, mine, mine…all mine. I can’t wait to start reading it.

    HA!!! Good job Michelle! I do that all the time. I think i’m known as the wacky lady in the
    bookstores here. Glad i’m not the only person out there shoving books at strangers.
    Amazing how many people will buy what you insist they HAVE TO HAVE because you “know” the author.
    Maybe it’s one of those friend of a friend of a friend things? “Herbert, look at this book I just got!
    I met the nicest lady who knows this lady that knows the lady that wrote this…”

    Yay Michelle, I have been looking in Las Vegas for the authors I have met through your blog. The only bookstores on this side of town are Spanish language so I haven’t seen any yet. Maybe the gals should be doing Spanish language rights for North America. Next time I get over to the other side of town though I will be doing the same face out and talk up.
    You have the most beautiful children.

    I have seen Jaci’s book a few times now-and each time I do I make a high pitched-I guess you’d call it a “squee” sound lol-that I can’t control. When people look at me funny, I attempt to control myself saying, “I’m fine…I just REALLY like that book.” :}

    PS-that child is beautiful-what a cute curly locks :}

    You’ll love KOM.

    What a doll! I have total hair envy!

    I’m glad you finally found SDI—wicked awesome book!

    (And KOM is wicked good, too!)

    Thanks everyone – yes dd has crazy curly hair. While adorable to look at it’s a nightmare to take care of because if you brush it, it just goes poufy. Plus she twirls it and then it tangles all over itself. Ah well, she’s only 5! She gets the hair from dh. I have straight hair. My oldest ds also has hair like that. My youngest ds has hair like me. I guess it’s fair that one out of three children has straight hair but he’s had more hair in his first year of life than the other two had for the first two years! LOL

    I do make a promise to all of you (well not ALL, all but as many as possible) that I will turn your books face out and take a picture if/when I see them in a bookstore. The problem is I don’t go there that often as I’m an internet shopper. But when I do I will so take care of your books for you.

    Shannon – I’ve actually had SDI for a while but I wanted to see it in real life at a book store. Do you think your Devlin Group series will go to print?

    Oh good job. I always do this for any diva work I see, not that we get a lot of it, but still, every bit helps. Good on you. And VERY cute daughter.

    What a cool thing to do! Next time I’m in Chapters I’ll do the same thing,
    but like you, I do most of my book buying online.

    Oh, and speaking up from the curly hair corner. BRUSHES ARE EVIL! I don’t even
    own a brush.

    Awww!! Michelle, your daughter is adorable! What a cutie–and I agree with everyone else, TOTAL hair envy!

    Thanks for mentioning KOM. I got your post over at my blog, btw. Sorry about the bouncing emails.
    My server was hacked and has to be rebuilt. Both my website and email have been down since the weekend. SUCKS!

    We got my site back up this morning, so hopefully the email won’t be far behind….

    [...] the Explorer – first my oldest ds and then my dd, I will never get this song out of my head. Hopefully there will be something new by the time [...]
