1…. I thought I’d follow Angie’s lead and try to post thirteen random things.

2. My baby is adorable, really and truly, BUT he needs to amuse himself for more than 5 minutes or I’m going to go insane. It’s a good thing he’s cute I tell ya. As I type this his 5 minutes are up apparently so we’ll see how long it actually takes me to finish this. Perhaps it will be Friday by then!! ROFL.

3. My ears still hurt. This ear infection is never ending and depressing. I think I have to go back to the dr. but I don’t want to. Who has time? I’ve got stuff to do…stuff more preferable than going to the dr.

4. I love my CP. She’s very nice and so smart AND also one of the new editors at a wonderful epub. She’s brilliant, frankly, and I’m very lucky. (And no I’m not just sucking up, it really is true – she’s also a great fantasy writer.)

5. I have no idea who is bashing whom (see other Thursday Thirteen bloggers for detals re this) or why, but it is not nice to bash fellow authors for any reason. Everyone has different tastes and if theirs is not yours then so be it. To each his/her own. Also, anonymonity does not give you the right to be rude. I am with Angie and Shannon (you MUST read 72 Hours) in that I am not amused.

6. I have a song going over and over in my head and it will not leave. It is a song by Casting Crowns called “If We are the Body”. It’s really good.

7. My TBR pile is growing. I have stacks of books around me and no time to get through them all. Between real life, actually writing my own stories and reading books for review I can’t seem to get anything done. Oh to have this problem. I am a book hound. I LOVE books. I seriously can’t get enough of them but I just need a little more time in each day to read them all.

8. Speaking of time…why is the time between when we submit something and the time when we hear back so tortuous? I mean, we all know it takes time. I was a bit spoiled because I heard back quickly on the queries so I guess I thought the rest would be quick too. Nope. I’m ok, really, I am NOT looking at the calendar every day and wondering if I will hear back. Well, maybe a little. I’m actually not even looking at my email every time it announces there is mail because it was getting a bit crazy. “Is it here yet? Is there an email? omg” Then, when I did see something in that folder (I filter my email to sort the good, bad and ugly) I didn’t want to open it because I didn’t know if I wanted to know, ya know? After all that, it was just something that filtered wrong.

9. Why are writers so insecure? Or maybe that’s just me? Or is it an artist thing? Being insecure does not amuse me either.

10. Ahh, baby is asleep, #2 child is watching a princess movie and we are all in our pj’s because we don’t have to pick #1 child up from school until 3:20 today (you gotta love choir after school – woohoo!).

11. I need to fold the pile of clean laundry gathering on the rocking chair. It is piling up, but I swear I just folded ten baskets yesterday. It is absolutely amazing how much laundry a family of five makes. I think it is never ending.

12. I’m 25% of the way through writing Snowbound. That is thrilling and daunting all at the same time. I’ve finished 1/4 of the story which is a lot but that there is still 3/4 left, which is also a lot. I’m aiming to do 2000 words a day. If I can do more that’s great. I’d rather not do less but I noticed on the day that I did I seemed to make it up the next day. This story really has my heart. There is so much of me and my past in it. My lovely CP has been so great and so far I don’t seem to have bored her to tears (at least I hope she is telling the truth – see there’s that damn insecurity again).

13. Whew – thirteen is a lot of things. OK, I’m ending this on a positive. I have a really wonderful dh. He hasn’t done anything specific to deserve that from me right this minute but it’s everything he does all the time. I probably don’t tell him as much as I should because, well you know, gotta keep him on his toes! LOL
